In a world where things can already seem frustrating and confusing to most people figuring out which path to take in their lives, an inspiring fifth grade teacher named Chandni Langford who teaches at Evergreen Avenue Elementary School in New Jersey decided to shine a little light and help her students feel less alone during their tests this year as she surprised them with uplifting messages of motivation on their desks which she describes as #growthmindsetmessages
Chandni Langford says she believes “they can do anything they want to do” and that they need to know they are surrounded by people who “truly believe in them.”
Messages such as “Learning is your superpower” and “Remember, there is no elevator to success. You must take the stairs! You got this!” were just a few of the warm, encouraging messages left for her students facing their standardized tests this year.
It’s no surprise this act of kindness went viral and Ms Langford got the praise she deserved by helping these young children prepare and believe that they can in fact do anything they put their mind to.
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment”
Sometimes we all need a little guidance to help us figure out who we want to be in the world and it seems Ms Langford certainly had the right idea when it came to helping her students.
She says she hopes this inspires other teachers to do the same, I personally hope this teaches something in all of us and that we learn no matter where we are in life or how old we are; There is nothing you can’t achieve. You got this!
