Is Love Really Definable? What does it mean?

Is love definable? It may be one of the most talked about, most sung about ideas in the world, but it’s still a mystery to most. As love flows through us, we all interpret it a little differently. Ed J C Smith has put together an a thought-provoking video, citing some of history’s most prominent figures who offer their description of the incredible, ineffable force we call love. The merging of his ideas with all these others will leave you with some rich food for thought.

He shares with our Uplifting Content community a little about himself:  “I produce a lot of different content to inspire different thinking and to help people move forward in life. I personally came from a dark space when I was 13 and attempted to kill myself, through therapy and different healing programs I am happy to say I healed that by helping others and I feel a great sense of value by helping others. I have a corporate consultancy business today which allows me to work voluntarily in a range of different charities helping others, such as St Mongo Broadway, which is one of London’s help-the-homeless charities, and Heart Cells Foundation that creates life changing treatment.”

Check out his video here and don’t forget to share it with anyone who may want a renewed take on love and answer the question, “Is Love Definable?”

A CGI Short Film On How To Deal Effectively With Fear

A CGI Short Film On How To Deal Effectively With Fear.

Some fear literally stops us dead in our tracks–an adrenaline rush and a quickening heartbeat are hardly unnoticeable. Other fear creeps into the background and we don’t notice, or even recognize, at first. But even when we do, it keeps holding us back.

This otherworldly CGI video depicts a way around the fear-bound situations so many of us encounter. The scene is not long but holds layers of figurative meaning to unpack. Read what Aurelija Salickaite has to say about her inspiration for the project:

“It all begins and ends in your mind. What you give power to has power over you if you allow it.” is a short animation I have made myself while in the process of trying to understand fear that was stopping me from living. I made this animation because I was lost between what people say about fear how we need to fight it and not think about it or get away from it and that led me to a very bad place. I would love to continue share it with the world with no purpose other than bringing people together and help spread the visual metaphor.

Spoiler alert: below is Aurelija Salickaite’s perspective on the video’s meaning. If you want to watch first to see how you interpret it, skip to the link now. But don’t forget to come back and read her intended message!

“Explanation and meaning behind it: “The light, the energy, gives power to the person’s heart, and with her eyes closed she moves towards that inner light. When she falls, the doubt, the fear, comes out. And the idea is that the fear grows and moves with the person. She tries to understand the fear, and notices that it moves like she moves. It is a part of her rather than something to get away from. The goal is that the person manages to take a step. And that is all you need, because fear will always be there. Only with conscious understanding of it’s existence we can move with it.”

Share this video with anyone who may appreciate an artistic look at moving forward unimpeded by fear and doubt.

Here is a message from the creator: “Hi there! My name is Mendel & I recently visited South Africa with my wife. I brought my camera with me & shot a bunch of video footage & I just finished editing a short documentary. I ended up inspired by the story of what took place in the country the past couple decades with the fall of Apartheid, while also aware of the challenges which remain ahead. It’s also Heritage day in South Africa today!”

You’ll Never Look At A City The Same Way

You know how we always see people around us when we’re out and about, often we just walk or drive right by without a second thought? After all, we don’t know them. But Brenton Z Weyi, an award-winning poet, essayist, and filmmaker, has some eye-opening ideas to share about cities. With his poetic perspective, I think you’ll feel a new appreciation and connectedness to every other being around you.

As Brenton tells us, “it’s a poem called ‘Multiplicity,’ and it’s dedicated to the roles that cities play in being havens for diverse inclusion and advocacy. I believe it’s a powerful message that needs to be heard by many people–especially now.”

So share this with anyone who lives in a city and help strengthen the incredible web of diversity that we all share!

College Student Quits School To Follow His Dream

Do you want to work for someone else’s dream? Or yours?

Yes, sometimes following a passion can be risky. Passions don’t always stay on the path society has laid out for us. Danny McGee knows this all too well. He went to college just like he was “supposed to,” but he still always found himself wanting to travel and experience the world outside of a classroom. So against the urgings of others, he took the risk.

This video will show you what came of his decision to drop out of college and go in the direction of his passion. Even going into the unknown, we will always know we are on the right path as long as we stay with our passions.

Only one way to find out: click this link, and pass it on to others to encourage them to follow their path.

Spoiler alert: you may encounter some of the most breathtaking places you have ever seen. And you may even feel inspired to steer your own life in a slightly different direction.

A Rap For Kids Who Feel Less Than

We all have a purpose and special genius within us. We may not have revealed it yet, but it’s there within us. All humans, one just as much as the next, are worthwhile and meant to be here for a significant reason. Other people’s superficial judgements are simply their own false reaction to a fraction of reality.

This lyric rap video is a fun, meaningful way that Bolaji O communicates the truth of how able we all are. Here he is to introduce his cause:

I’m a children’s book author, who struggled with social anxiety growing up. When I became a Dad, I created Brave Young Heroes to help my kids, and others, find their voice in the world. Here’s a short video I created in response to a friend’s autistic son being bullied. Enough is enough. It’s called #DISSability

Watch and share with any kids that might need some reassurance that they are more capable and incredible than they know.

DISSability. An anthem for every kid who's ever been devalued …

#DissabilityI wrote this for every kid, who's ever been devalued or dismissed. If you've ever been picked on, passed up, or counted out? This ones for you.#OurKidsWillChangeTheWorld

This Video Will Bring You Back To What Matters

This video takes us on a peaceful journey as it shows us a common way we humans tend to think. We’re always chasing things we want, going after that next goal, waiting, and expecting that when we get to the future everything will be better. All the while, we’re negating–nay, disrespecting–all that we have now. The way our minds tend to work, thinking and planning, distracts us from appreciating each moment. Reminders like this video can help shift our thought patterns back to the incredible gifts of now.

Right now, we always have the opportunity to notice all the things we have in and around us that we can be thankful for. We can always choose to love and live within this magnificent miracle of a world we were given.

Check this video out and pass it on to keep the appreciation going!

It’s time for a fable! This short but profound story about a man and three bulls might just change the way you look at challenges and opportunities. This video reminds us of carpe diem, seizing what we have right now and not waiting for a tomorrow when things might be “easier.” So seize the chance right now to hear Divyanshu Damani tell a story that will blow your mind.
